Karl
Bauer is the lone wizard behind this outfit transplanted from
Brooklyn to Oakland. This disc is material from a more recent move
between Oakland to San Francisco, during which there was a period
of isolation and homelessness. For some of this time Karl managed
to stay in a hotel where these pieces were recorded. Using his
ritual tools of violin and decayed electronics, Karl elicits a new
level of emotional
psychedelia, of which this disc reveals captivating snapshots of
these workings. |
