3" CDR | $6 | limited to 50

SOLD OUT

Clay Ruby starts off the third series with another offering of Incunabula. This disc is limited to 50 copies, and features dark drones and dense layers of bells and  percussion. These sounds are like a slow crawl through an ominous train tunnel, grinding and buzzing along until the bowed cymbal headache climax. The passive aggressive state of tension on the disc is a new twist for Incunabula.

"Incunabula is my vehicle for capturing and sharing my favorite sounds with other ears."
-Clay Ruby

The next installment of "favorite sounds" from Clay Ruby is a recording of a very hypnotic and beautiful experiment with bells, microphones, effects, and disabled turntables. Cassette comes bare with sticker protecting the tape.

The third incunabula is one long bleak soundscape, offering an introspective trance which builds to slow throb decorated by withered tapes, buzzing electronics and somber tones. Inspired by the sounds recorded at the site of Clay's little brother's grave.

Gnomon

CDR in jewelcase | $8 | 4 tracks

SOLD OUT

Second full length from Incunabula, gnomon is quite different from anything done on catharsis for drones and static.  Almost inaudible at times, the CD was mastered very quietly so that it could be listened to at multiple volume levels for a variety of perceptual experiences with it. Played at normal levels it maintains sparse click and chiming until the end piano improvisation sings the coda. When played at loud volumes, the material becomes very engaging and textural.  Comes in jewel case with beautiful graphic design by Theresa Behnen and photography by Joma.
